The Heartsaver Instructor Essentials Course prepares candidates to teach AHA Heartsaver courses. It focuses on using teaching materials, meeting learning objectives, coaching students, evaluating skills objectively, and adhering to AHA policies. The course includes core and discipline-specific content for teaching AHA courses.
This instructor course is intended for individuals who wish to teach Heartsaver courses to non-healthcare professionals such as construction workers, childcare providers, teachers, security personnel, and others who require certification in first aid, CPR, and AED use for professional or other regulatory requirements.
The Heartsaver Instructor Essentials Course is taught in a blended learning format. AHA Heartsaver Instructor candidates must have a current Heartsaver Provider card and have completed the Heartsaver Instructor Essentials Online Course before attending the hands-on session conducted by HS/BLS Training Faculty.
